Bryan Illsley is renowned for his versatility across a wide range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, jewellery, and ceramics. After relocating to St Ives in the early 1960s, he refined his practice through apprenticeships, notably at the Leach Pottery, before establishing a jewellery partnership with Breon O’Casey. In 1986, he returned to London, where he continued to create evocative, abstract works distinguished by their unpredictability and contemplative nature across multiple mediums.
